Portable Toilet Etiquette 101: Keep It Clean for the Next Guest
Portable Potty Pointers: Making Every Event Visit a Good One
Let's face it, when nature calls at an outdoor event, a portable toilet is a welcome sight! They're essential for keeping events comfortable and convenient, but their cleanliness relies on a little teamwork from all of us.
At Taplin, we pride ourselves on delivering clean, well-maintained units, but a little etiquette from users goes a long way to ensuring everyone has a pleasant experience.
So, for your next festival, fair, or family gathering, here's a lighthearted guide to portable toilet etiquette. Think of it as the golden rule, but for the great outdoors!
Do's and Don'ts for a Happy Potty Experience
DO:
🔹 Look Before You Leap (or, you know, enter): Take a quick peek inside before committing. If it's not up to snuff, politely wait for another, or notify event staff if there's a serious issue.
🔹 Aim True: This one seems obvious, but it’s crucial for keeping the unit tidy.
🔹 Use the Hand Sanitizer: Most modern units (like ours!) come equipped with hand sanitizer. Use it! It's there for a reason and helps everyone stay germ-free.
🔹 Close the Door and Latch It: This is for your privacy and for the next person. No one wants an unexpected surprise!
🔹 Tell a Staff Member if There's a Problem: If a unit is out of toilet paper, overflowing, or needs attention, a quick heads-up to event organizers or a Taplin representative helps us keep things running smoothly.
DON'T:
🛑 "Feed" the Toilet Anything But... Well, You Know: Wipes (even "flushable" ones), paper towels, feminine hygiene products, food scraps, bottles, or trash of any kind should NEVER go into the toilet. Use the waste bin provided. Stuffing the toilet leads to clogs and messy situations for everyone.
🛑 Leave the Door Open: Seriously, don't. It invites insects, leaves, and unpleasant odors to linger, making it less pleasant for the next person.
🛑 Stand on the Seat: This can be dangerous, dirty, and can damage the unit.
🛑 Linger Unnecessarily: Be mindful that others might be waiting. Do your business, clean up, and move along.
🛑 Vandalize or Misuse the Unit: These units are a service for everyone. Please treat them with respect.
